ZTE revealed on Monday it has signed an MoU with Indonesian telecoms infrastructure and network provider MoraRepublic to collaborate on developing and expanding fixed wireless access (FWA) and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) services for residential and enterprise customers.
The MoU – which was signed during last month’s MWC Shanghai 2026 event – calls for ZTE and MoraRepublic to jointly develop broader and more efficient FWA networks, evolve FTTH networks, and improve service quality using AI-powered network operations.
The two companies will also explore end-to-end AI-driven network architecture to support intelligent broadband operations, service assurance, network optimization and broadband service development, as well as other initiatives to support future broadband growth.
MoraRepublic – formerly known as Moratelindo before it struck a deal to merge with MyRepublic Indonesia at the end of 2025 – is focused on expanding internet access in urban areas and rapidly growing regions across the country to support broader digital inclusion as part of its post-merger strategy.
MoraRepublic is also building up international capacity to support its domestic network expansion via Moratelindo International Cable System-3 (MIC-3), a subsea cable connecting Batam to Singapore, which is being built by Chinese subsea cable firm HMN Tech.
“As we continue to integrate and grow the combined strengths of Moratelindo and MyRepublic, our focus is on building a stronger and more efficient broadband foundation that can sustainably meet the country’s increasing demand for high-quality connectivity,” said MoraRepublic CFO Yopie Widjaja in a joint statement. “This collaboration allows us to go beyond traditional network expansion and move toward a more intelligent to broadband development, one that improves service reliability, optimizes network performance, and enhances user experience at scale.”
“Together with MoraRepublic’s infrastructure footprint and local execution capabilities, we aim to enhance broadband access and service quality for both residential and enterprise customers, while supporting a rollout approach that is practical, scalable, and sustainable in the long term,” added Liu Sen, president director of ZTE Indonesia.
