InfraNexia, Lintasarta to boost DWDM services between Sumatra and Batam

Telkom Indonesia’s wholesale fibre spinoff InfraNexia revealed on Wednesday it is collaborating with Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison’s ICT arm Lintasarta to boost DWDM services on routes connecting the Sumatra region with Batam.

The two companies will cooperate to optimise the utilization of DWDM services on the Medan-Batam and Padang-Batam routes to support high-capacity connectivity for corporate customers, cloud services, data centres, and digital services that require large capacity, reliable latency and network scalability.

Strengthening connectivity in both corridors is expected to accommodate the growth of data traffic as well as provide greater network flexibility in supporting the development of various digital services, said InfraNexia's president director Lukman Hakim Abd. Rauf.

“Through collaboration with Lintasarta, we are strengthening the Medan-Batam and Padang-Batam corridors as part of the connectivity foundation that can support service expansion, data traffic growth, and new digital needs in the future," Lukman said in a statement.

“The need for digital services, cloud, data center, and various technology-based workloads continues to increase,” added Lintasarta’s president director Armand Hermawan. “Collaboration with InfraNexia through the utilization of DWDM services is part of our efforts to strengthen network capabilities so that we can continue to optimally support the digital transformation needs of customers.”

Telkom Indonesia completed its spinoff of InfraNexia as a wholly owned subsidiary last month.
