Cambodia’s Metfone expands digital partnership with Canadia Bank

Viettel’s Cambodian subsidiary Metfone announced on Wednesday it has expanded its partnership with Canadia Bank with an MoU to explore ways to cooperate in digital infrastructure, digital solutions, cybersecurity, green energy, and logistics.

Under the MoU, the two firms will seek ways to use Metfone's network infrastructure to support connectivity across Canadia Bank's branches, as well as data centre and cloud services to facilitate the bank's digital transformation.

Potential digital solutions being explored include integrating mini-apps across Metfone’s and Canadia Bank's respective platforms, connecting selected services and deploying omnichannel SMS solutions to enhance customer engagement.

Metfone and Canadia Bank will also cooperate on cybersecurity in areas such as penetration testing, security operations centre (SOC) services, DDoS protection and security assessments.

The two parties will also explore solar energy solutions for Canadia Bank's facilities via Metfone’s smart solar power offering for households and businesses that it launched earlier this year, as well as potential development of green financial products, with Metfone serving as a technical partner.

Meanwhile, Canadia Bank will also consider using Metfone Express – the end-to-end logistics platform launched by Metfone in June – for some of its logistics needs, including nationwide delivery of cards, documents and other materials to customers.
