Digital transformation is a key phrase in many modern telecoms initiatives – and is clearly a driver for two recent strategic partnerships involving major North African operators.
In Egypt operator Orange Egypt and Circle K Egypt, a company that is part of one of the world’s largest retail chains, have established a partnership to, they say, accelerate digital transformation and operational efficiency.
Under the terms of the agreement, Orange Egypt will provide Circle K with an integrated suite of connectivity and digital infrastructure solutions, including high-speed internet services and secure, resilient inter-branch connectivity. These solutions are designed to ensure business continuity while optimising operational performance.
In this context, Orange Egypt has implemented SD-WAN technology, one of the most advanced solutions for branch connectivity, as it enables more intelligent, streamlined, and flexible network management through a sophisticated virtualised architecture. This, in turn, says Orange, enhances performance, strengthens security and ensures consistent service stability across all branches.
Circle K is a Canadian-origin retail franchise currently ranked among the world’s largest retail chains, with over 70 years of successful operations.
Meanwhile, Algerian operator Djezzy has announced a new strategic partnership with the Algerian Telephone Industry Company (INATEL) in a move aimed at accelerating Algeria’s digital transformation and strengthening local technological capacity.
The agreement is structured around three main priorities: driving technological innovation through the development of smart, market-specific digital solutions; reinforcing economic sovereignty by prioritising national expertise and reducing dependence on foreign providers; and improving user experience through more integrated and efficient digital services.
Djezzy and INATEL say they plan to combine their resources to build a more unified and responsive digital ecosystem tailored to the Algerian market.
