Connectivity solutions provider iBASIS announced on Tuesday it has signed a management service agreement with Indonesian telco XLSmart to manage local and overseas mobile authentication traffic coming into its network.

Under the agreement, iBASIS will serve as the unique international and domestic authorized gateway for mobile authentication traffic into XL network prefixes, which iBASIS said will improve security for XLSmart customers.

iBASIS also said the agreement aims to optimise transport, operations, and authentication integrity for XLSmart, as well as provide the telco with business intelligence from the evolving mobile authentication ecosystem.

“With our advanced infrastructure, unparalleled volume of customer relationships, and strategic global market intelligence we will support XLSmart in providing legitimate and transparent authentication for consumers worldwide,” said iBASIS CEO Patrick George in a statement.

Feby Sallyanto, chief of XLSmart’s enterprise business solutions, said the agreement is a key part of the telco’s long-term strategy to strengthen its enterprise business and digital services.

“Partnering with iBASIS allows us to optimize the aggregation and secure transport of mobile authentication traffic across the market,” he said.
