Several major music labels have pledged their support for a new mobile music download service launching in South Africa. Mobile Chilli has signed a deal with labels such as EMI, Universal, Warner, Sony & Ministry of Sound in order to provide mobile owners across South Africa access to music from many of the world's most popular artists.

The download service is virtually handset agnostic, allowing content to be downloaded to almost any kind of handset, as well as letting users preview and purchase individual tracks, full albums and ringtones. The service also sends purchased content to the customer’s home computer, in addition to the immediate mobile download.
