Subscribers of one of Gabon’s major operators are now able to access a top up service which allows the Gabonese community living or working abroad to directly recharge the prepaid mobiles of their families back home in Gabon.

The service, known as International Top Up, is being offered by operator Azur Gabon in partnership with Ireland-based ezetop, a company that enables relatives abroad to support friends and family back home by delivering airtime credit directly to mobile phones.

David Shackleton, Chief Commercial Officer at ezetop said, "This innovative service allows people to stay in touch effectively. We are encouraging people to send recharge today to their friends and family”.

ezetop will provide this service to the Gabon communities worldwide from over 350,000 retail stores.

Azur Chief Marketing Officer, Mr, Neeraj Gala said, "As an emerging markets operator, Azur is aware of its customers’ needs. A significant number of the Gabonese population live abroad but ties to home remain important, so availability of Azur airtime overseas will enable them to send airtime home to their family and friends and allow them to remain connected despite the distance."
