Philippine operator Globe Telecom's chief intelligence and trust officer Anton Reynaldo M. Bonifacio will step down on January 1, 2027, after 12 years with the company.
Bonifacio, who is “leaving corporate life”, most recently took responsibility for AI, data, cybersecurity, privacy and digital policy when he was appointed chief intelligence and trust officer in July 2026.
He was appointed Globe's first chief artificial intelligence officer in 2024, having previously served as chief information security officer, where he led the development of the operator's cybersecurity and privacy operations.
Globe said his work helped integrate security across its telecommunications infrastructure and digital businesses, while establishing governance for the company's adoption of AI.
Garrett Silao will serve as officer-in-charge from January 1, reporting directly to Globe president and CEO. The company did not announce a permanent successor.
Globe said AI, data, cybersecurity, privacy and digital trust would remain central to its transformation and long-term growth.
Bonifacio spoke to Developing Telecoms last year in Copenhagen, where he laid out his plans to accelerate AI use in the operator.
